The Duluth Family
Medicine Residency Program combines a strong in-hospital experience
with a broad exposure to ambulatory aspects of Family Medicine.
There is a gradual shift in emphasis from the former to the latter
over the course of the three-year residency. We are fortunate
in having a full complement of specialty services available to our
residents without specialty residents interfering with the breadth
or depth of the education process.
The required portions of the curriculum conform to the General
Essentials for Residency Training and the Special Requirements for
Residency Training in Family Medicine and are obtained in short-term
(block) rotations and longitudinal experiences. The curriculum also includes a wide variety
of electives for third-year residents.
